MOSCOW, January 22 (RIA Novosti) – Two miners died and two others were injured when methane exploded in a coalmine in Siberia’s Kuzbass district on Wednesday, a law-enforcement source said.
The explosion took place in an abandoned area of the mine, which is located in the town of Prokopyevsk. Nine miners were nearby when the blast occurred.
There were 105 people in the mine when the explosion occurred and 101 of them were brought to the surface safely.
