MOSCOW, January 17 (RIA Novosti) – Two members of Russian feminist punk band Pussy Riot traveled to Singapore on Friday in their first foreign trip since they were released late last year, Western media reported.

Pussy Riot’s “Punk Prayer” video, which resulted in jail terms for hooliganism and inciting religious hatred for three of the band’s members, was shortlisted in the digital/video category for the Prudential Eye Award for young Asian artists.

Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina, who were released from prison under presidential amnesty in December just before their two-year prison sentences were to end, plan to attend the award ceremony on Saturday.

“We will definitely continue our protests, and we will continue political activism to fight for prisoners’ rights,” Bloomberg quoted Alyokhina as saying during a media event for nominees in Singapore.
