MOSCOW, December 16 (RIA Novosti) – A pair of thrill-seeking Muscovite youths have been fined 100 rubles ($3) for riding the roof of a high-speed train from the Russian capital to the northern city of St. Petersburg, police said Monday.

Still, the fine will have cost them a substantial amount less than buy buying a seat for the four-hour trip. Average ticket prices for the Moscow-St. Petersburg route on the high-velocity Sapsan train hover around the $120 mark.

Sapsan travels at speeds of up to 240 kilometers (150 miles) per hour.

Online news portal Newsru.com reported that the two offenders, who were identified as being born in 1990 and 1995, were unharmed and suffered no frostbite.
