Blast Hits Rural Mosque in Russia’s North Caucasus

An unidentified explosive device went off at a rural mosque in Russia’s North Caucasus republic of Kabardino-Balkaria on early Friday, a spokeswoman for local police said.

NALCHIK, October 18 (RIA Novosti) - An unidentified explosive device went off at a rural mosque in Russia’s North Caucasus republic of Kabardino-Balkaria on early Friday, a spokeswoman for local police said.

Marina Kyasova said the blast hit the mosque in the village of Dugulubgei at 3.20 a.m. local time, adding that “human remains were found at the scene of the explosion.”

She also said the explosion shattered windows in houses located near the mosque.

A group of explosive experts and investigators work at the scene of the incident to establish the cause of the blast, she added.
