* Damascus has welcomed the deal reached between the US and Russia to put Syria’s chemical weapons under the international control, the country’s minister of national reconciliation said Sunday.

* US Secretary of State John Kerry said Sunday that that the deal he reached with Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Syria's chemical weapons was capable of removing all its arsenal, media reports said.

* India successfully conducted a second test flight of an Agni-5 long-range ballistic missile able to carry a nuclear warhead, NDTV television channel has reported.

 

RUSSIA

* A Russian state TV host has invited US Senator John McCain to take part in his show and discuss his stance on Syria.

* The Russian-US deal on Syria, reached on Saturday, does not mean that Washington has dropped plans to impose regime change in Damascus, a senior Russian lawmaker said.

* The US embassy said that “bigotry is the disease of ignorance” in response to a photo of US President Barack Obama with racist connotations, apparently posted on Twitter by a Russian lawmaker.
