MOSCOW, August 14 (RIA Novosti) — At least 11 people were wounded in clashes that broke out in Cairo on Tuesday between supporters and opponents of ousted President Mohammed Morsi, Al Arabiya reported.

Clashes erupted after Morsi supporters marched the streets of the Egyptian capital toward the building of the Interior Ministry and supporters of the new military-installed government began throwing rocks and bottles at them.

Reuters reported that one of Morsi’s supporters was killed in the clashes and police also fired teargas to disperse the demonstration.

Egypt's National Defense council warned last month supporters of Morsi that security forces would take “decisive and firm decisions and actions in response to any violations,” according to Al Jazeera.

The Egyptian army deposed Morsi, who narrowly won the country’s first free presidential election in June of 2012 with 51.7 percent of the vote, following mass nationwide protests against the rule of the Islamist president.
