MOSCOW, July 31 (R-Sport) – Tennis World No. 42 Nikolai Davydenko will come to the Russian capital in October to take part in the Kremlin Cup, the organizers said on Wednesday.

Moscow resident Davydenko has not missed a single tournament on home soil since 2003, winning three titles along the way in 2004, 2006 and 2007.

The former world No. 3 will try to improve on last year's disappointing first-round exit, when he lost to Alex Bogomolov Jr. in two sets.

The 32-year-old has been struggling through the season since reaching the final in Doha in January, registering a record of 16 wins and 17 losses.

The men’s draw will be led by ninth-ranked Richard Gasquet, world No. 10 Stanislas Wawrinka and 2011 champion Janko Tipsarevic. That is a step up from last year, when 20th-ranked Alexander Dolgopolov led the field.

The women’s tournament will also include high-profile players, such as WTA Top 10 stars Sara Errani and Angelique Kerber.

The ATP 250 event will be held in Moscow’s Olimpiisky arena from October 12 through 20, with a prize fund of $750,000 for the men's competition and $800,000 for the women's event.
