KRASNODAR, July 31 (RIA Novosti) - A Russian national stands a court trial after a false bomb explosion threat, which was allegedly to take place on the territory of the United States last year, police in Russia’s south reported.

Last August, an anonymous person left a message on the website of the US Embassy in Moscow that a bomb would explode in the United States, without specifying the exact location and time.

The Interior Ministry reported that as a result of investigative measures it was established that the person, who left the threatening message, was a 25-year-old male resident of Russia’s southern city of Krasnodar.

“Evidence was found after the search of his house,” the ministry’s local department said in a statement.

If the court finds the suspect guilty of issuing a false bomb threat, he will face up to three years in prison.
