MOSCOW, July 19 (R-Sport) - Dynamo Moscow have signed Romanian national team midfielder George Florescu on a free transfer, the Russian Premier League football team have said.

The arrival of Florescu, 29, continues a trend of clubs managed by Dan Petrescu bringing in players from the coach's home country - three Romanians were signed during his two-and-a-half years at previous club FC Kuban.

“I was at training camp in Switzerland with the team and I’ve already been feeling for a while like Dynamo’s mine and I’m very happy that I’ve signed a contract,” he said on the Dynamo website. “For me it is a big honor to compete for this club.”

The holding midfielder joins on a one-year deal. He had been out of contract since leaving Romanian Liga I side Astra Giurgiu at the end of last season.

He said he could play a substitute role when Dynamo host Anzhi Makhachkala on Friday and is expected to be able to start at home to fierce rivals Spartak Moscow next week.

It is the third spell in Russia for Florescu, who has previously spent two seasons with Torpedo Moscow and one with Alania Vladikavkaz. He has scored once in 11 games for Romania.
