MOSCOW, May 27 (R-Sport) – CSKA Moscow guard Milos Teodosic will require surgery on his calf and miss the rest of the VTB United League playoffs, the basketball team's president, Andrey Vatutin, said on Monday.

Teodosic, who averaged 8.5 points and 2.8 assists in four playoff games this season, hurt his gastrocnemius muscle during CSKA’s 74-72 win in game two of the semifinals at Khimki on Sunday.

Vatutin told Russian television the injury is “serious.” Further details were not immediately available, but he speculated that Teodosic, a 26-year-old guard, will likely need two to four months of recovery time.

The loss further batters CSKA’s ailing back court, as guard Sonny Weems is out for the semifinals with a severe ankle sprain. Coach Ettore Messina said Monday center Sasha Kaun is expected to miss game three on Tuesday with lower back pain.

Teodosic averaged 10.2 points and 3.9 assists in 19 games during the VTB regular season.

The semifinals series is tied at one apiece.
