Delegations of Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) agreed to continue negotiations at Wednesday’s meeting, Iran’s Press TV reported.

MOSCOW, February 14 (RIA Novosti) - Delegations of Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) agreed to continue negotiations at Wednesday’s meeting, Iran’s Press TV reported.

“The remaining differences would be discussed in the next meeting between the two sides,” the channel said, citing Iranian Ambassador to the IAEA Ali Asghar Soltanieh, who headed the Iranian negotiating team.

The IAEA’s delegation was led by the agency’s chief inspector Herman Nackaerts.

The sides have also “reached a basic agreement to work out a structured framework to resolve the outstanding issues regarding the Islamic Republic’s nuclear energy program,” the channel said.

No date for the new talks has been made public so far.

The previous round of talks, held in Tehran on January 17-18, also ended with no tangible results.

The United States, Israel and some of their allies accuse Iran of pursuing military objectives under the guise of its peaceful nuclear energy program. Iran rejects these allegations, arguing that as a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and as a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency, it is entitled to develop and acquire nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
