What are you doing on Dec. 21? According to doomsday prognosticators, the world will end that day, when the 5,126-year-old Mayan calendar ends. And for those buying into the “end times” scenario, they’re busy converting spare rooms and storage sheds into bunkers; purchasing survival tools, even those that fight zombies; and generally preparing in case the end is near.

WASHINGTON, November 27 (RIA Novosti) - What are you doing on Dec.

These so-called “preppers” have created detailed plans on what to do and where to go in the event the world as we know it comes to an end.

Besides the basics of food and water, “preppers” have stockpiled all sorts of supplies, from food rations to zombie stoppers, here’s 10 items that really caught our eye:

Stealth Survival Suit
One theory on how the world might end is at the hands of an apocalyptic zombie attack. If that is indeed the case this Doomsday “Prepper” Zombie-Hunting Stealth Survival Suit might come in handy. For just under $80 “preppers” can blend in with the woodland in this jacket and pants suit, hooded face veil, and rifle wrap.

Blast Boxers

Initially designed for the military, it’s easy to see why these bullet stopping boxers are popular with survivalists and designed to help you protect ”what matters most.” For $95 these Blast Boxers are supposed to shield from what could otherwise be potentially catastrophic damage.

Food Tablets
While typically used by government agencies during natural disasters, these food tablets, infused with flavors like chocolate, are extremely popular with doomsday “preppers.” Survival Tabs as they are commonly called, are high in calories, packed with vitamins, and come with a ten year shelf life.

Gas Mask Handbag

Student’s from Parson’s School of Design in New York City created a collection of handbags that can be transformed into life-saving gear in the event the world ends. One of the hand bags even turns into a gas mask. The bad news is these potentially lifesaving purses haven’t made it to mass production yet, so it’s highly unlikely you’ll be able to snag one before December 21.

Zombie Killer Machete
Knives are another must have tool, necessary to help you navigate safely through the post-apocalyptic world. Check out these twin Kukri Machete knives, being marketed as zombie killers and the perfect doomsday “prepper” survival tool.

Tactical Bacon

“Great for campers, hunters, and survivalists,” is the tag line for Tactical Bacon- Tac Bac for short. The shelf life on this snack is a whopping 10 years.  One 9 ounce can (0.27 liters) will set you back $20, but gives you 18 servings of actual bacon strips. According to the website, Tac Bac is also a popular care package item for deployed members of the US military.

Two-Legged Sleeping Bag
Since you may be on the move either dodging zombies or looking for food, a sleeping bag is yet another essential for survivalists. And since you never know if you’ll need to get a move on quickly, perhaps you’ll consider this Japanese sleeping bag, fully equipped with a place for your legs so you can out of dodge quickly.

Survival Capsules

Remember Noah’s Ark? Well, a Japanese designer has created a futuristic version of the life-saving ship that resembles a giant yellow golf ball. For around $4,000, you can purchase the Noah by Cosmo Power, a disaster pod that floats on water. If the end of the world comes by way of flooding, this Noah pod can serve as a safe spot for up to four adults. It also comes equipped with a small window and breathing hole.

Zombie Stopper
When the end of the world is upon us, chaos is almost certain to ensue. Guns are popular with survivalists, and this Zombie Stopper is equipped with a biohazard reticle to “sight them and kill them dead.”

Bleach
A common household cleaning staple, the blog SurvivingDoomsday.US suggests stocking up on bleach to use as a water purification system when the world ends. The site recommends adding 16 drops of bleach per gallon (3.79 liters) of water. “Do not use scented bleaches, color-safe bleaches, or bleaches with added cleaners,” it cautions.
