MOSCOW, November 24 (R-Sport) - Igor Lebedenko's close-range header gave Terek Grozny a 1-0 win over Caucasus rivals Alania Vladikavkaz in the Russian Premier League on Saturday.
Stanislav Cherchesov's side leapfrog Rubin Kazan into fourth place with their 10th win of the season.
Alania taste a second-straight defeat under new coach Valery Gazzaev and remain second from bottom in 15th.
After a forgettable first half, Terek took the lead on a 55th-minute corner, when Lebedenko redirected a Marcin Komorowski header into the net from close range for his sixth goal of the season.
Lebedenko and Poland international Komorowski blew chances to extend the winning margin later in the half.
Alania were without top scorer Danilo Neco, and it showed as Gazzaev's charges failed to conjure up anything of note in the final third. They take a winless run to 12 matches.
Later Saturday, FC Krasnodar visit Lokomotiv Moscow.
Sunday sees a Moscow derby as Spartak play Dynamo, before FC Kuban take on Krylya Sovetov.
Monday pits Amkar Perm against Anzhi Makhachkala and Rubin against FC Volga.
Leaders CSKA Moscow then travel to Zenit St. Petersburg, who are appealing a 3-0 default loss handed down by the Russian FA after a match was abandoned when a flare from the crowd injured an opposing player.
