MOSCOW, November 15 (R-Sport) – The Davis Cup final between reigning champion Spain and the Czech Republic will start Friday with a clash between world No. 5 David Ferrer and Czech Radek Stepanek.

Spain is looking to win its fourth title in five years, while the Czechs had only one triumph in 1980 as a part of Czechoslovakia.

Friday will also see Nicolas Almagro of Spain face Tomas Berdych, the Czech world No. 6.

Saturday’s doubles clash pits the Spanish pair Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez against the Czech duo of Ivo Minar and Lukas Rosol.

On Sunday, Almagro plays Stepanek and Ferrer faces Berdych, two players who failed to advance from their group at the World Tour Finals last week.

The Czech Republic may become the first country in 22 years to win both Fed Cup and Davis Cup after their women’s team beat Serbians in the final earlier in November.

The United States previously held both Cups in 1990

The matches will take place in Prague on hard indoor courts.
