MOSCOW, November 7 (R-Sport) - Liverpool coach Brendan Rodgers warned Wednesday that a poor-quality Moscow pitch could work against his team when they play Anzhi Makhachkala in a Europa League clash Thursday.

The pitch at the Lokomotiv stadium has a reputation for cutting up easily and is sodden after several days of rain in the Russian capital.

"It's going to be a difficult game for us on a difficult pitch, I believe," he said.

Without the home advantage provided by the fervent Anfield support, Liverpool may have to make do with a draw, Rodgers suggested.

The Liverpool mentality is to always go for victory, he said, adding "but if you can't win it, then you don't want to lose it."

In that case, "if you get a point, great," he added.

The Reds are 12th in the English Premier League after 12 games, whereas Guus Hiddink's Anzhi are challenging for the Russian title for the first time and are second in the top flight.
