MOSCOW, November 5 (R-Sport) – Spartak Moscow have agreed on the transfer of Ghanaian forward Majeed Waris from BK Hacken, the Swedish club announced Monday.

The 21 year old ended the Swedish season as top scorer with 23 goals in 29 matches, lifting the team to a highest-ever finish of second.

Waris, who has four caps for Ghana, has also been linked to Everton and Chelsea, who both reportedly sent scouts to Sweden.

“The premier league's top scorer has been surrounded by professional rumors almost the entire season,” a statement on Hacken’s official website said. “Now it's clear. BK Hacken and Spartak Moscow have agreed on a transfer. Only the details remain.”

If the deal is signed, the Ghanaian international should join the nine-time Russian champions during the winter break, when he can be reunited with another ex-Hacken player in midfielder Kim Kallstrom.

Spartak stand fourth in the Russian league, eight points behind leaders CSKA Moscow.
