The Final Eight of next season's women's Euroleague will be hosted by the Russian city of Yekaterinburg, FIBA Europe announced on Tuesday.

The sharp end of Europe's top club basketball competition will take place March 18-24 at the home arena of 2003 champion UMMC Yekaterinburg.

It is the second time the Ural Mountains city has hosted the latter stages of the Euroleague after the 2011 Final Four. This year the competition was expanded to eight teams.

FIBA Europe president Olafur Rafnsson praised the level of Russian organizers and basketball fans.

"We are glad to return to Yekaterinburg after the big success of the Final Four they organized two years ago," said Rafnsson. "There are few places in Europe and the world such an enthusiastic crowd."

After the regular season and playoffs, the best eight teams will be divided into two groups, with the top two in each group qualifying for the semifinals.
