KHL team Sibir Novosibirsk has traded two of its forwards for center Alexander Nikulin from Amur Khabarovsk, the Siberians announced on their website Sunday.

Andrei Stepanov and Mikhail Fisenko are now heading to the Russian Far East.

Nikulin, 27, joined Amur from CSKA Moscow in 2010 and has recorded 12 goals and 37 assists in 103 games since. He scored once and provided two assists in 14 games this season.

He was in the Russia squad that claimed silver at the 2005 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships, losing to Canada 6-1 in the final.

Nikulin is set to arrive in Novosibirsk on Sunday before the team travels to Moscow to face Western Conference leader Dynamo on Tuesday.

Sibir is second in the East with one point less and two more games played than the leader of that conference, Traktor Chelyabinsk.

Amur’s new acquisition Fisenko has racked up three points with one goal in 10 games for Sibir this season, while Stepanov has the same record in 15 games.

Amur is tenth in the East and was playing Dynamo Moscow on the road Sunday.
