An air show in the city of Zhukovsky near Moscow will continue on Sunday as Russia’s Air Force celebrates its 100th anniversary.

The show’s first day was held on Saturday. It was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, top Defense Ministry top officials, foreign military attaches and some 80 foreign air force commanders. The event will be open to public on Sunday.

The show comprises a static aircraft display and an extensive demonstration flight program.

The flight program consists of two parts - the Legends of the World’s Aviation, which involves overhauled World War I and World War II aircraft, and the Common Skies show representing modern combat aircraft, a Defense Ministry spokesman said.

A demonstration flight of Russia’s fifth-generation T-50 fighter is one of the key features of the show, which involves over 110 aircraft and helicopters.

Seven aerobatics groups from Britain, Italy, Turkey, France, Poland, Finland and Latvia will also take part in the show.

The show will culminate with the performance of Russia’s famed Russkiye Vityazi (Russian Knights) and Strizhi (Swifts) aerobatics teams.
