The Bahamas raced to the Olympic gold medal in a dramatic men's 4x400 meters relay on Friday.

Ramon Miller of the Bahamas chased down veteran U.S. runner Angelo Taylor in the final 50 meters for gold in two minutes, 56.72 seconds.

The U.S., 16 times Olympic champion in the event, clocked 2.57.05, with Trinidad and Tobago taking bronze in 2:59.40.

It was the Bahamas' first gold in track and field.
