Russia, Romania, the United States and China are the favorites of the Olympic artistic gymnastics tournament, 1992 Olympic champion Oksana Chusovitina told R-Sport on Friday.

Russia, Romania, the United States and China are the favorites of the Olympic artistic gymnastics tournament, 1992 Olympic champion Oksana Chusovitina told R-Sport on Friday.

Chusovitina, 37, will be the first gymnast to compete at six Olympics when she represents Germany in London.

“Everybody got their chances at the Olympics. These are Olympic Games and there are no weak teams, only the strongest teams get there,” said Chusovitina, who rolled back the years to win silver in Beijing in 2008.

“However, the main medal fight will unfold among Romania, China, USA and Russia.”

Chusovitina is adamant London will the end of her 20-year Olympic career, and says she wants to enjoy it.

“I’m not going to Brazil [in 2016], I’ll go there only to support my teammates. My husband and son have come to London to support me. So I should put up a good show, I want to demonstrate all I can.” Chusovitina said.

She represented the post-Soviet Unified Team in Barcelona in 1992 and Uzbekistan from 1996 to 2004 before switching to Germany for Beijing.

Chusovitina won the team all-around competition with in Barcelona and finished second in the vault in Beijing.
