A heavily-pregnant Olympic shooter is depending on her unborn baby to help her to victory in London, she said Friday.

Malaysia’s Nur Suryani Mohd Taibi is eight months pregnant and admits she could go into labor during Saturday’s 10-meter air rifle competition.

“If I won the medal, I will see this is as yours as you helped mummy so much,” she said, addressing her unborn child.

“Maybe you give me more strength, more stability and more confidence."

Mohd Taibi, 29, said that she can communicate with her baby to stop the unborn child kicking her while she shoots.

“When baby kicks, I will breathe in and breathe out and try to calm myself down and talk to baby: 'Behave yourself and help mummy to shoot'.”

“And luckily she understands, she always understands.”

Mohd Taibi is a Malaysian military officer who came second in the 40-meter air rifle event at the 2010 shooting world championships and third in the same event at that year’s Asian Games.

The 40-meter air rifle is not included in the Olympic program.
