Liverpool striker Luis Suarez said Tuesday he will not be distracted from his international duty for Uruguay when he returns to Old Trafford in the Olympic football tournament.
Manchester United’s ground was the scene for a confrontation between Suarez and United left-back Patrice Evra in October that resulted in the Uruguayan being banned for eight matches on a charge of racial abuse.
"I am representing Uruguay and that's all that matters to me,” Evra said when asked how he felt to return to the stadium, adding that it was a “spectacular ground”.
“I said before that the English press is what matters least to me. I am proud to represent my country."
Uruguay face the United Arab Emirates in their opening Olympic match Thursday.
