The official results of Egypt's presidential elections will be announced on Sunday at 17:00 local time [13:00 GMT], Egyptian TV reported on Saturday.
The results of the June 16-17 run-off vote were originally planned to be released on Thursday, but the Supreme Elections Commission said in a statement on Wednesday that it needed more time to examine some 400 reports of electoral violations received by the commission.
The two candidates, the Muslim Brotherhood’s Mohamed Morsi and Ahmed Shafiq, who served as prime minister under ex-President Hosni Mubarak, both claimed victory.
