More than 200 mostly drunken football fans have needed medical help in the Ukrainian city of Donetsk after France, England and Ukraine all played there in Euro 2012.

The number could rise Monday when England and co-hosts Ukraine clash in Donetsk, bringing together two countries renowned for their boozing ways.

"Since the beginning of the championship 209 fans have asked for medical assistance, mainly suffering the symptoms of alcohol intoxication, complaining of a headache," Donetsk mayor Alexander Lukyanchenko said.

"On June 15, 40 fans asked for aid, two citizens of Ukraine were hospitalized with a diagnoses of appendicitis and a heart attack."

The Donbass Arena, which usually hosts club side Shakhtar Donetsk, has already hosted England and France on Monday and Ukraine and France on Friday.

It will also hold one quarterfinal and one semifinal.

The English need a point against Ukraine to make the quarterfinals, as do France, who play Sweden in Tuesday's other game.
