Russia are hitting their peak physical form ahead of Friday's Euro 2012 opener against the Czech Republic, striker Alexander Kerzhakov was quoted as saying Tuesday.

Monday was the Russians' first training day at their base near Warsaw after two days' rest.

"We went through some intensive training. I think we're reaching our optimal form," said the 29-year-old Zenit St. Petersburg striker said in comments on the Russian Football Union's website.

Russia, who enter Euro 2012 on a 14-match unbeaten run, play their first Group A game in Wroclaw before meeting co-hosts Poland in Warsaw on June 12. They remain in Warsaw to play Greece on June 16.

Kerzhakov scored in two of Russia's three warm-up games, grabbing the equalizer in 1-1 draw against Uruguay in Moscow on June 1 and the opening goal in a 3-0 drubbing of Italy on Friday.
