Coach Dick Advocaat may rest winger Marat Izmailov and right-back Alexander Anyukov for Russia's final Euro 2012 warm-up game against Italy on Friday, the Dutchman said.
Both have been training separately since picking up knocks in the 0-0 draw against Lithuania on Tuesday.
"Only tomorrow will we know if they will play against Italy," Advocaat said Thursday.
"In principle, they're ready to play tomorrow, but we don't want to take risks, because the important game isn't tomorrow, it's next week," he said, referring to the June 8 Euro 2012 opener against the Czech Republic.
Zenit St. Petersburg's Anyukov is Russia's first-choice right-back. Advocaat called CSKA Moscow's Kirill Nababkin in as cover at the last minute.
Izmailov won his first call-up since 2006, and is one of several attacking options for Russia.
Russia also drew their first Euro 2012 warm-up game, a 1-1 match against Uruguay in Moscow on Friday.
For the tournament, Russia's other Group A opponents are co-hosts and Greece.
