Pakistan carried out a succcessful test of its domestically-produced Raad (Hatf 8) nuclear-capable cruise missile on Thursday, Pakistan's GEO-TV reported.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Gilani congratulated the missile's makers on the successful test.
According to local media, Raad is an air-launched cruise missile capable of destroying targets up to 350 km away, and uses stealth technology to avoid radar detection.
The test program for the missile has been underway a number of years, along with the land-based Babur cruise missile, with which it shares technology. The two systems are set to be the main cruise missiles of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the future.
