Russia's Natalie Ishenko and Svetlana Romashina won the duet event at the European synchronized swimming championships in Eindhoven on Sunday.

Russia's Natalie Ishenko and Svetlana Romashina won the duet event at the European synchronized swimming championships in Eindhoven on Sunday.

Ishenko and Romashina regained the title they won in Budapest in 2010, winning with a score of 97.860 points.

The Spanish pair of Ona Carbonell and Andrea Fuentes finished second on 95.980 points, while the bronze medals went to Darya Iushko and Ksenia Sidorenko of Ukraine with a score of 92.950 points.

Ishenko, 26, also won the solo competition Sunday to collect her eighth career European medal, while Romashina now has five.

Both Ishenko and 22 year-old Romashina are Olympic gold medalists in the group event and multiple world champions, winning 6 and 3 gold medals respectively at the last world championships in Shanghai, China.

The European championships end Sunday, with the combination the last event.
