Lokomotiv Moscow right-back Roman Shishkin, who dropped out of Russia's Euro 2012 squad after being hospitalized with gastritis, is anxious about his Russia future, club president Olga Smorodskaya told RIA Novosti on Saturday.

Shishkin, 25, has eight caps for Russia and was widely expected to provide cover for first-choice right-back Alexander Anyukov in Poland and Ukraine this summer.

But days into the team's training camp Shishkin announced he was dropping out of the squad with stomach trouble that Smorodskaya claimed was related to stress.

"He's lying in the hospital still, unfortunately," Smorodskaya said. "How can you cope with it all? He's really concerned about it all," she said, referring to his footballing future with the national team.

Smorodskaya said she suspected he would remain under observation until at least Monday.

“I think this is a consequence of emotions," she said earlier this week. "After all, the European Championship is a very important competition. Even positive emotions can influence us in a completely unexpected place.”

Shishkin's withdrawal, combined with the injury pullout of defender Vasily Berezutsky, caused a defensive crisis that forced Advocaat to drop striker Artem Dzyuba and midfielder Magomed Ozdoev from the provisional squad to call in back-up.

CSKA's uncapped right-back Kirill Nababkin was brought in to cover Anyukov in the position.
