The players of Russian Premier League side Anzhi Makhachkala are to don black armbands in Sunday's game against Rubin Kazan in memory of the victims of the suicide bombing that killed 13 people, a spokesman told RIA Novosti Saturday.

More than 100 people were injured in Thursday's twin car bombings in the capital of Dagestan in southern Russia, attacks initially blamed on a local crime gang.

"At the match with Rubin the Anzhi players will play in armbands, and before the game they will honor the memory of the victims of the double terrorist attack in Makhachkala with a minute's silence," club spokesman Alexander Udaltsov said.

Anzhi officials have reportedly said they will not introduce extra security measures for the game.

Dagestan is a hotbed of violence linked to an Islamist insurgency that lingers after two separatist wars in neighboring Chechnya.
