Prosecutors have issued warnings to the organizers of possible unsanctioned demonstrations planned for May 6 in downtown Moscow, the prosecutor general’s office said on Friday.

The prosecutors had in mind a protest against the victory of president-elect Vladimir Putin in March 4 elections. Its organizers said they had applied for permission from the city authorities but received no answer within three days and therefore considered the action authorized.

“This action was not agreed with the authorities,” the prosecutor general’s office said.

Moscow prosecutors said they had issued a warning to Yulia Kazakova, one of the action’s organizers, and her colleagues.

Meanwhile, another protest action planned for May 6, the March of Millions, has been authorized by the city administration.
