An unusual visitor wandered onto campus at the University of Colorado on Thursday morning, causing quite a stir amongst residents.
A 200-pound (90.7 kilogram) male black bear was spotted wandering near a residence hall around 8 a.m. (1400 GMT), before deciding to climb up a tree and rest there for a few hours.
Once police and humane society officials realised the bear was not coming down, a mattress was brought in and the animal was tranquilised.
After about 20 minutes, the tranquilised bear simply rolled over and fell out of the tree.
No humans were hurt and the bear was returned to the wild after he regained consciousness.
