Dynamo Moscow is discussing a contract extension with coach Oleg Znarok after he led the team to the Gagarin Cup, club president Mikhail Tyurkin told RIA Novosti on Friday.

Dynamo sealed their first Gagarin Cup with a 1-0 win away to Avangard Omsk on Wednesday, which gave the Moscow team a 4-3 series win after a comeback from 3-1 down.

“We hope that Oleg will continue to work at our club. We have discussed this question and now we are being advised on all the legal issues,” Tyurkin said.

“I really hope he’ll remain at the club and that all the coaching staff will work at the club.”

Any player trades will be decided upon in the coming weeks, he added.

“It’s absolutely serious, and we haven’t discussed these questions yet. There will be a decision somewhere around a month’s time.”

Znarok signed with Dynamo in 2010, shortly after taking now-defunct MVD to the Gagarin Cup final, where the team lost in a decider to Ak Bars Kazan.
