WORLD

* South Ossetia entered into the so-called ‘day of silence,’ when any form of election propaganda is prohibited, prior to the second round of presidential elections on April 8

* A 5.5-magnitude quake was registered near the coast of Indonesia, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said on its website.

* UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has condemned the Syrian authorities for new military attacks on opposition forces, which reportedly killed dozens of people in the past two days.

* At least 12 people, including three children, were killed and over 50 passengers were injured after a bus crash to ravine from a highway in the country's north-west, local transport police officer Nazario Torres told Argentinean C5N TV channel
