The group D meeting ended in a Russian triumph, 3-2, which beat the Slovakian team by the same score on Sunday.

In the individual matchups, Alexei Smirnov fell to Andrew Gachine 1-3, Kirill Skachkov dispatched Zoran Primorac 3-1, Alexander Shibaev succumbed to Tomislav Kolareku 2-3, then Smirnov beat Primorac 3-1, and Skachkov defeated Gachinu 3-1.

Russians plays a third World Cup match on Tuesday, when they will face the Belarusians.
