Witnesses reported a Bell 407 helicopter crashed on Thursday in the Volga river in the area of the Grebny Canal near the city of Nizhny Novgorod.
"At 10:25 Moscow time, the Nizhny Novgorod Emergencies Ministry command received a message that a helicopter had crashed 150 meters from the bank of the Volga river in the area of the Grebny Canal," the Emergencies Ministry said.
There is no information yet as to casualties. Investigators are on the way to the scene.
