Terek Grozny scored a 1-0 home win over FC Rostov courtesy of a second-half strike from Shamil Asildarov, continuing a mini-revival that sees the Chechen side pull away from Russian Premier League relegation zone.

Asildarov's eighth league goal of the season came on 48 minutes, with the striker tucking away a low Igor Lebedenko cross at the near post.

Terek's third-straight victory lifts them to 41 points, a full ten points away from the relegation playoff zone that they were flirting with before the winter break.

They rise to second in the league's relegation group, trailing by seven points FC Krasnodar, who won 2-1 earlier Saturday at FC Volga.

Rostov, who drop to third in the group on 39 points, carved out several chances but the Terek defense stood strong.

CSKA have the have the chance to restore the six-point gap at the top when they travel to Spartak Moscow on Monday.
