United Metallurgical to Build U.S. Pipe-Making Plant

Russia's United Metallurgical Company, one of the country's largest pipe makers, will build a plant in the U.S. in 2013 to produce from 150,000 to 200,000 tons of pipes of Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) type, the company said on Thursday.

Analysts polled by Kommersant business daily estimate cost of the project at $150-200 million.

The company will build the new facilities on the site of the TTS plant in Texas, United Metallurgical Company said.
