Three dead, 7 injured in separate traffic accidents in Ingushetia

Three people were killed and seven more injured in a two separate traffic accidents on Wednesday night in Russia’s North Caucasus republic of Ingushetia, a local police spokesman said on Thursday.

Three people were killed and seven more injured in a two separate traffic accidents on Wednesday night in Russia’s North Caucasus republic of Ingushetia, a local police spokesman said on Thursday.

“Three cars collided at about 9:30 p.m. [17:30 GMT] on the Kavkaz federal highway near the village of Barsuki. One man was killed in the crash,” the spokesman said adding that seven more people were hospitalized with injuries.

He said the man killed in the traffic accident worked at the local department of Russia’s federal drug control service.

In a separate development of events, about half an hour later after the previous crash, a car swerved from a highway near the Ingush city of Malgobek and crashed into a tree killing two people in the vehicle.

“It turned out later that the two people killed in the crash were court bailiffs,” the spokesman said.

According to statistics, about to 30,000 people lose their lives in traffic accidents every year in Russia due to the poor state of highway networks and reckless driving.
