Russia and India are set to sign an array of documents on energy and military-technical cooperation during the Indian prime minister’s visit to Moscow, presidential aide Sergei Prikhodko said on Thursday.

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is to meet with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Friday, after which a number of documents will be signed, including on construction of new nuclear power plants and supply of additional kits to assemble Russian fighters under license in India.

Under a new protocol to the 2000 intergovernmental agreement, Russia will supply kits to assemble 42 Su-30MKI Flanker multirole fighters for the Indian Air Force.

Prikhodko did not provide other details but said energy and military-technical cooperation would be given high priority during bilateral contacts.

The parties will discuss a number of international issues, such as international terrorism, the situation in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran in the context of its nuclear program, as well as North Africa and the Middle East.

Singh is also due to meet with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
