The Egyptian government is not going to move the date of parliamentary elections, which now scheduled to begin on November 28, the government's Cabinet said on Sunday.

"The government asks that people contain themselves in order to express their points of view and to refrain from carrying out demonstrations that will encourage chaos and the deterioration of security in Egypt when Egypt requires stability and security," the Cabinet said in the statement. The Cabinet has also expressed full support to the Ministry of Internal Affairs in opposition to violence.

It is the second day of deadly violence between protesters and police. More than 1,000 people were injured as clashes erupted, coming eight days before Egypt's first elections since former President Hosni Mubarak was ousted in February.

At least four people are reported dead in Cairo and Alexandria.

There are still thousands of demonstrators at Tahrir Square in Cairo.
