Russia plans to increase hydrocarbons supplies to East Asia, Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov said on Saturday at the East Asia Summit.

"Our plans include increasing hydrocarbons supplies to the East Asian countries to strengthen energy security and ensuring sustainable economic growth in the region," Lavrov said.

"We intend to cooperate in the field of conventional and non-conventional energy sources, creating infrastructure for oil refining and liquefied gas production. Russia already has a positive experience of such cooperation with some East Asian countries," he added.

Lavrov also said that Russia's strategic goal in East Asia was to ensure conditions for the region's sustainable growth, which will allow the country to integrate better in the regional security architecture, modernize its economy and contribute to the economic growth of Siberia and Russian Far East.
