* At least 20 civilians have been killed in clashes with government troops in Syria on Thursday, a day after Damascus pledged to withdraw its forces from protest centers under a deal with the Arab League to end months of bloody massacre, Al Arabiya TV reported.

* Greece needs a sixth tranche of European aid - 8 billion euros - by December 15, Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos said.

* Israeli will freeze its annual contributions to the UNESCO budget after the UN cultural body granted membership to Palestine, the prime minister's office said.
