The Israeli Air Force attacked militant positions in the town of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza on Monday morning, killing two Palestinians, the enclave’s health ministry reported.
The Palestinians retaliated by firing at least six rockets on Israeli territory. There were no immediate reports of casualties on the Israeli side.
The Israeli military said more than a dozen mortars and rockets had been fired from Gaza since midnight.
At least 10 Palestinians have been killed since Saturday in Israeli airstrikes in retaliation for more than 40 rockets fired from Gaza since Wednesday, killing one Israeli man and wounding many others.
