Ukrainian former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko considers recent resolution of the European Parliament on Ukraine is one of the most tough against any country, Tymoshenko's party member Sergei Vlasenko said on Saturday.

The European Parliament on Thursday passed the resolution criticizing the trial of Tymoshenko, saying it was a judicial abuse which was aimed at suppressing the most important opposition leader in the country.

Under the resolution the Ukrainian authorities should guarantee a fair appeal process on Tymoshenko's case and give her an opportunity to participate in next parliamentary elections.

"She knows about the resolution. She agrees that it is one the most tough resolutions," Vlasenko told Russia's Echo Moskvy radio station, adding that Tymoshenko was still in pre-trial detention center and only her attorneys could visit her.
