Former Moscow mayor Yury Luzhkov is planning to file a lawsuit against the Kremlin over accusations that he allowed an unprecedented spread of corruption in the Russian capital during his term in office. (Izvestia)

Moscow’s Park Kultury metro station will not open this year due to delays in repairs. A St. Petersburg-based sub-contractor has failed to deliver the new escalators that will equip the remodeled station. (Moscow News)

Moscow authorities have allocated over 45 million rubles ($1.5 mln) to the development of a project to design a standard two to three-star hotel to be built in Moscow’s outskirts. The city, where the average price of hotel accommodation is the highest in Europe, needs about 85 such “economy” class hotels. (Moscow News)

A Moscow district court has authorized the arrest of prominent Moscow lawyer Vladimir Oreshnikov. Prosecutors accuse Oreshnikov of large-scale fraud, while the lawyer says the case against him has been fabricated by the security services. (Kommersant)

The Moscow government has authorized the so-called Russian March in the outskirts of the capital. Russian nationalists will hold the rally on November 4. (Kommersant)

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has approved the creation of a “super-university” at the Skolkovo hi-tech hub being set up near Moscow. Annual tuition at the future university will be $100,000. (Izvestia)
