On Thursday, September 29, China launched its first Long March 2FT space rocket with a Tiangong-1 orbital module, from the Jiuquan Space Center, Inner Mongolia.
A Tiangong-1 orbital module lifted off September 29 from Jiuquan Space Center. China plans to use the Tiangong-1 module during the first spacecraft-docking experiments in the country’s history. The module will remain in orbit for two years, and the first docking is scheduled for mid-November 2011.
