Thirteen people were injured when a helicopter carrying North Caucasus deputy presidential envoy Maxim Bystrov crashed in Karachay-Circassia on Monday, emergency officials said.

Thirteen people were injured when a helicopter carrying the Kremlin's deputy envoy to the North Caucasus crashed in Karachay-Circassia on Monday, emergency officials said.

Two pilots are in intensive care. The other injuries were described as "slight."

The MI-8 helicopter is thought to have belonged to Russian oil company Rosneft.

The causes of the crash are being investigated.
