An explosive device went off near a groceries store in Karabulak, a city in Russia's North Caucasus republic of Ingushetia.

An explosive device went off near a groceries store in Karabulak, a city in Russia's North Caucasus republic of Ingushetia, a local police source said on Sunday.

"An explosive device went off around midnight near a groceries store on the Oskanova street in Karabulak. No one was injured, but the store was damaged," the spokesman said.

He did not specify the type of the explosive device and its power.

"Specialists are currently working at the scene of the blast," he added.

More than a decade after the end of a war against separatists in Russia's North Caucasus republic of Chechnya, Russian security forces continue to fight militants in other regions in the area besides Chechnya, including Kabardino-Balkaria, Ingushetia, Dagestan, and North Ossetia.

Frequent attacks are staged on security forces, police and civilians.
